Georgian parliament passes declaration on NATO membership

The Georgian Parliament passed a declaration on the country's urgent integration into NATO with 160 votes to 0 on March 13.

The memorandum signed by the leaders of all political factions and political parties has been added to the Declaration, APA reports.

Parliament speaker Nino Burjanadze called the declaration an important document reflecting unique position of the country.

"Georgia will do its best to integrate into the organization that will bring peace and stability to the region. Integration into NATO is the priority for the whole Georgian people," she said.
