Mammadyarov meets UNICEF Regional Director

Noting the high level of relations between Azerbaijan and UNICEF, the Minister said that the Heydar Aliyev Foundation does a lot to defend the rights of children and takes care for their education.

The greater part of economic incomes is spent for education of new generation. 60 percent of the refugees and IDPs are children and they are the war victims. The government keeps in focus the need of these children being very sensitive, the Minister stressed.

Ms. Calivis gave high assessment to activities of Azerbaijan in this field, its cooperation links with UNICEF, stressing necessity for further continuation of cooperation.

She welcomed the rehab works for refugee children and their integration to society, the announcement of 2007 as the Youth Year. AzerTAg
