UNICEF regional director visits Azerbaijan

The guest visited Heydar Aliyev's grave in Honorary Alley and Martyrs' Alley and met with Hidjran Huseynova, chief of the State Committee on Family, Woman and Children Problems.

She is going to meet with Deputy Prime Minister Elchin Afandiyev, ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova, Parliament's speaker Oktay Asadov and vice-speaker Bahar Mahmudova, MPs Hadi Rajabli, Rabiyyat Aslanova, Samad Seyidov today.

Maria Calivis plans to meet with Education Minister Misir Mardanov, Health Minister Oktay Shiraliyev, Youth and Sport Minister Azad Rahimov, Economic Development Minister Haydar Babayev, Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Fuzuli Alakbarov tomorrow.

Maria Calivis will visit the refugee camp in Darnagul settlement of Baku to concern herself with the condition of children living there. Then she will meet with Ali Hasanov, the chief of the State Committee on Work with Refugees and IDPs and with the President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva.

Health, education and protection of children will be mainly discussed during the meetings.

Ms. Calivis's visit will end March 15, APA reports.
