Matthew Bryza: "Azerbaijan's rich natural gas resources are enough for efficiency of Turkey-Italy-Greece gas pipeline"

He said that the US supported the main pipeline Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan project as there is need for new energy routes, APA reports.

"Successful operation of the pipeline caused diversification and rivalry and was profitable for the participants," he said.

He underlined that transportation of Iraq's natural gas through Turkey will strengthen the strategic partnership of official Ankara with Washington.

The US diplomat said that the US, Turkey and Iraq officials are holding negotiations on this.
