Representatives for Azerbaijani communities' united congress to be elected in Jerusalem

The foundation of Azerbaijani-Israel Friendship and Cooperation Association will be discussed and the film about the life of famous Azerbaijani Jews will be demonstrated at the meeting.

The first meeting of Azerbaijani Jews was held in Tel-Aviv on December 1, 2006. Organizing a united organization of Azerbaijani Jews and strengthening the ties between Azerbaijani and Israeli state bodies and public organizations were underlined at the meeting.

About 100 Azerbaijani Jews live in Israel at present.

Though there are Azerbaijani-Israel friendship societies in many Israeli towns (Haifa, Netaniya, Beer-Sheva, Akka), there is no united organization of Azerbaijani Jews, APA repors.
