Azerbaijan and Georgia agree on a part of state border

Joint meeting of the state commissions on delimitation and demarcation of Azerbaijan-Georgia borders ended in Baku today.

Joint protocol was signed as a result of the two-day meeting. Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister, co-chair of the commission from the Azerbaijani side Khalaf Khalafov said that issues of mutual concern were discussed during the meeting.

"The protocol signed today, reflects the results of the two-day negotiations," he said.

Khalaf Khalafov said agreement was reached on a part of Azerbaijan-Georgia border, APA reports.

"65% of the state border between Azerbaijan and Georgia has been coordinated. The experts will continue to discuss uncoordinated issues," he said.

Khalafov noted that the uncoordinated area belongs to Agstafa region. No agreement was reached on David Garechi complex, negotiations will continue.

Georgy Manchgaladze, Deputy Foreign Minister, chairman of the State Commission on Delimitation and Demarcation of Georgia said that they worked in effective and businesslike atmosphere.

"We determined some future measures," he said.
