Venice Commission sends draft on Electoral Code to Azerbaijan for amendments

The draft prepared by Azerbaijani government basing on the recommendations on Electoral Code of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe was studied by the commission and again sent to Azerbaijan for amendments, Sergey Kuznetsov, the officer of Venice Commission Elections and Referendums Division told.

He said that they hope to get the redrafted variant this month, APA reports.

"Venice Commission experts will meet with representatives of Azerbaijani government in April after getting acquainted with the draft. The meeting may take place in Baku," he said.

Kuznetsov said issue on Azerbaijan has not been included in the agenda of the Venice Commission session to be held in Venice March 16-17.
