The visits of Turkish high ranking officials to Azerbaijan has no connection with Iran-US relations

"Recent visits of high ranking officials of Turkey, one of the active members of NATO has no connection with Iran and the US relations," Turkish Land Forces Commander, General Ilker Basbug visiting Azerbaijan said.

"Our visit has nothing to do with Iran-US confrontation. Everyone who starts to serve in the Turkish Armed Forces Staff visits Azerbaijan first," he said.

He refuted the reports concerning the appointment of a Turkish General to the post of the deputy Defense Minister of Azerbaijan. Basbug added that he will discuss military cooperation between the two countries and regional situation with Azerbaijani officials, APA reports.
