Russia ready to review radar contract with Azerbaijan

Russia is ready to study Azerbaijan's potential proposals to reexamine the rent contract for the Gabala radar, Russian Ambassador to Baku Vaisly Istratov said.

"There is an agreement between the two countries that was signed by their presidents. It sets the annual size of rent paid by the Russian Federation. If the Azeri side raises this issue, we are ready to discuss it. But, so far, no such proposals have been received," he told Interfax.

The two nations' ten-year document is to expire in 2012, Istratov said, adding he does not rule out that Russia may refuse to prolong it. Interfax-AVN
