Polish FM: "All recognize Azerbaijan's territorial integrity"

Poland's FM Anna Fotyga is visiting Azerbaijan. She met with her Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov.

Elmar Mammadyarov said the briefing that the Foreign Ministries of the two countries concluded memorandum on the cooperation on integration into Europe in 2007-2008. He said that Poland is interested in the energy cooperation with Azerbaijan. Underlining that the two countries have broad and historical relations, the minister said they discussed bilateral relations, negotiations over the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, on-going processes in the European Union, expansion of European Neighborhood Policy.

Anna Fotyga noted that Poland is the member of both European Union and NATO and is ready to help Azerbaijan’s integration into these organizations. The Minister said that Poland depends on Russia in energy sphere and they hold negotiations with Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan to eliminate it.

Commenting on her laying a wreath on the monument on the alleged Armenian genocide in Yerevan, Anna Fotyga said her country faced bloody events therefore they bow before any monument erected in honor of victims.

Touching upon the Khojaly genocide Anna Fotyga said that Poland attaches great importance to historical points.

The Polish Minister considers that the history should be denied.
Asked whether she regards Nagorno Karabakh as Azerbaijan's territory, the minister said Poland supports efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group and wants the conflict to be solved peacefully corresponding to all international norms.

Anna Fotyga stated that all recognize Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, APA reports.
