NATO to assist establishment of peacekeeping detachment in Azerbaijani Interior Troops

NATO will assist the establishment of peacekeeping detachment in Azerbaijani Interior Troops. The issue was coordinated with NATO Assessment Mission visited Azerbaijan in the middle of February, Commander of Interior Troops, General Lieutenant Zakir Hasanov stated.

"The problem should be solved mutually. Peacekeeping detachment should be set up by 2008. We have taken all measures. This detachment will become a party in 2010," Hasanov said.

Zakir Hasanov noted that NATO Assessment Mission highly appreciated Interior Troops' qualification. The commitments of the Interior Troops within Individual Partnership Action Plan have been solved, APA reports.
