PACE Standing Committee to discuss protracted conflicts in GUAM countries

March 16 next meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe Standing Committee will be held in Paris.

The meeting will cover discussions on demographic challenges, migration of population and refugees, extradition of refugees in member states, situation of Georgian migrants in Russia, situation of women in the South Caucasus, cooperation with the European Court of Human Rights, violence against women, ban on "Gay parade" in Moscow, professional education of journalists, activities of the International Committee of the Red Cross, environment, information technologies.

The meeting participants will also touch on protracted conflicts in GUAM countries.

PACE President Rene van der Linden, OSCE PA president Goran Lenmarker, some of reporters of PACE, as well as Tony Lloyd will partake in the meeting. Tony Lloyd will report on "The US and international law".

The member of Azerbaijani Parliament Rafael Huseynov will participate in meeting as rapporteur on science, education and culture. He will report on "Professional education and training of journalists".

After the speech, discussions will be held and relevant recommendations will be adopted, APA reports.
