Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan sign protocol on prolonging mutual visa-free travel

Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov during his visit in Kazakhstan met with his counterpart Marat Tajin today.

The sides have signed protocols on prolonging mutual visa-free travel and on ratification of agreement on strategic partnership and alliance between the Republics of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. Marat Tajin reminding the 15th anniversary of cooperation between the two countries talked about development of mutual relations.

He stated that the trade turnover between the countries increased by $250m last year. Stressing the importance of strengthening of relations of business structures, the Minister noted that one of the priorities for both counties is construction of fiberoptic communication line from Aktau to Baku.

FM stated that the implementation of this project will make it easy for Kazakhstan to access to European telecommunication.

Saying that agriculture is a very prospective field, the minister said that Kazakhstan will export wheat to Azerbaijan, and Azerbaijan in its turn fruit and vegetable.

The sides also touched on the cooperation in the fields of oil, gas, transport and culture, APA reports.
