Azerbaijan replies to PACE on commitment implementation

27 February 2007 [15:43] - TODAY.AZ
Official Baku has sent a reply to the report of Andres Herkel and Tony Lloyd, PACE Monitoring Committee co-rapporteurs on Azerbaijan related to the implementation of commitments undertaken while admission to the Council of Europe, head of Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation to PACE Samad Seyidov told.

The MP said that the reply to the co-rapporteurs' report covers two directions- positive momentums which are real and unspecified points, APA reports.

"Azerbaijan wants these terms to be changed and fair reports to be included in the document," Samad Seyidov said. He refused to clarify what are unspecified points in the co-rapporteurs’ report adding that some issues are not true.

Seyidov said that the report will be debated at the meeting of PACE Monitoring Committee in Strasbourg March 28. The parliamentarian stressed that Azerbaijan is prepared for the debate.
