Moldovan premier meets his Azeri counterpart

Moldovan Prime Minister Valsile Tarlev met his Azeri counterpart, Artur Rasizade, within his official visit to Azerbaijan.

The two premiers tackled issues related to the development of the economic relations between Moldova and Azerbaijan and the two countries' territorial integrity.

Artur Rasizade described this visit as a possibility of extending the interstate relations in all the activity fields.

The Azeri premier said Moldova and Azerbaijan are confronting with similar problems, especially the one of territorial integrity. About one million refugees from Armenia and Iran live in Azerbaijan and they need jobs and dwellings. The Azeri state started constructing settlements for the population from those 12 tent camps on its territory, Artur Rasizade specified.

Vasile Tarlev proposed to open an Azeri trade house in Moldova and a Moldovan one in Azerbaijan, to inaugurate an air route, Chisinau-Baku, and to create optimum conditions for the collaboration between the two countries' business people.

At the same time, Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev invited Artur Rasizade to pay an official visit to Moldova.

Vasile Tarlev today also met Azeri President Ilkham Aliyev. During the meeting, the premier expressed Moldova's gratitude for Azerbaijan's contribution to completing the construction of the Giurgiulesti oil terminal, south of Moldova, MOLDPRES special correspondent reports from Baku.
