Ombudsperson estimated Khojali tragedy as action directed against peace and mankind.
UN General Assembly's 11 December, 1946 Resolution 96(I) notes that, genocide insults human self-esteem by violating the rights of human groups to live, deprives the humanity of material and moral support. These defamed actions are contrary to the goals and duties of the UN, Suleymanova said.
Elmira Suleymanova expressed her sorrow that international organizations have not assessed the Khojali genocide legally.
The statement has been sent to the UN Secretary General, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, OSCE, Council of Europe, International and European Ombudsmen Institutions and Asian Ombudsmen's Association, APA reports.
