Azadliq alliance not to change its position on ADP

19 February 2007 [22:31] - TODAY.AZ
Azadliq alliance does not intend to change its position concerning the Azerbaijan Democrat Party (ADP), said Citizen and Development Party leader Ali Aliyev.

He told the APA that the Chairmen Council of the alliance will discuss this problem again.

"The alliance's decision is thought-over and I do not think that it may change. Our decision served to ADP's integrity," he said.

Ali Aliyev said that few members of the ADP participated in the Supreme Assembly organized by Rasul Guliyev's supporters.

"We will study the problem and discuss it tomorrow," he said.

Ali Aliyev said Akif Shahbazov will not be accepted as ADP representative by the alliance and the Organizing Committee for the Preparation for the Congress confirmed Serdar Jalaloglu as ADP's representative.

"We got the Committee's decision and according to the decision Serdar Jalaloglu is recognized as party's representative. We regret that Rasul Guliyev’s supporters do not compromise," he said.

Commenting on further cooperation with Rasul Guliyev Ali Aliyev said that they will decide it tomorrow.

"Rasul Guliyev's supporters ignore Azadliq alliance's decision. Notwithstanding Serdar Jalaloglu's compromise position, the other side's position leads the party to separation," he said.

Akif Shahbazov, whom Rasul Guliyev appointed as ADP's representative in Azadliq alliance, told the APA that they will make efforts to attend the alliance's meetings. Commenting on any decision concerning the party's leaving the alliance, Shahbazov did not rule out the discussion of the problem.
