15 February 2007 [19:07] - TODAY.AZ
Foreign Ministers of five Caspian Sea littoral states are scheduled to convene in Tehran late February to prepare the final version of a joint statement on the legal regime of the Caspian Sea for a subsequent summit of their heads of state.

Azerbaijan's ambassador to Tehran Abbasali Hassanov said that the meeting of the five foreign ministers from Iran, Russia, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan would be held in Tehran on February 27 and 28.

The envoy also added that the relevant documents to be studied by the foreign ministers have been discussed and evaluated by experts of the five countries in several meetings.

He said that election of a new president in Turkmenistan has increased the chance for a meeting between the heads of the five littoral states, adding that the summit would be held in Tehran but that no date has been specified yet. Fars News Agency
