He told APA that the program aims to improve cooperation between the NATO and partner states, as well as Azerbaijan.
"We support programs for development and researches in ally countries. We can finance the projects improving the cooperation and realizing within our projects. We support a number of projects in Azerbaijan. One of them is Melanj project on environment. The implementation of the project started in July last year. Our program finances the process of destruction of toxic and chemical pollutions within the project. Nine countries are provided internet service through satellite within Virtual Silk Highway project. The project ensures close cooperation with various research institutes. We provide these institutes with necessary equipment and hold training and seminars," he said.
Yakobovich added that NATO has received a number of projects by Azerbaijan.
"We'll begin assessment of the projects soon. We call on Azeri scientists to cooperate with us and present new projects," he said.
