Iranian Deputy FM discusses energy, Caspian and transport issues

Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister, Special Representative of Iranian President for Caspian issues Mehdi Seferi paid one-day visit to Baku.

Iranian ambassador to Azerbaijan Afshar Suleymani told the APA Mehdi Seferi discussed bilateral relations and Caspian’s status during his visit with Deputy Foreign Minster Khalaf Khalafov. They also discussed meeting of the working groups of five Caspian states in Tehran in late February. Preparation of statement of the summit and the time of the summit is expected to be defined during the meeting.

Seferi also met with Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov and they discussed transport relations between the two counties, North-South Transport Corridor, integration of motor transport roads, uniting Astara-Astara railway, construction of railway and automobile bridges.

Iranian Deputy Energy Minister Rasul Zerger, accompanying Mehdi Seferi met with Azerbaijani Industry and Energy Minister Natig Aliyev. Relations between Azerbaijan and Iran, construction of power plant were discussed during the meeting. The ministers also discussed preparation of project on construction of power plant in Ordubad until summer.
