Azeri FM meets Japanese delegation

Harada Chikahito said the current visit is being realized in the framework of memorandum reached between the Foreign Ministries of two countries.

"Azerbaijan attaches special attention to development of the relations with Japan, in particular, we are keen in studying economic experience of Japan," Mammadyarov stressed.

Issues of cooperation in political sphere and the countries' same position on a number of international questions were also focused.

Emphasizing necessity of the activation of Japanese companies in Azerbaijan, the Minister said there is necessary condition for that, in particular, to take part in realization of regional economic project.

Noting new trends in Japan's foreign policy, Harada Chikahito said the Japanese governmnet would increase support for the countries to develop democracy and market economy.

"Azerbaijan is among these countries and we uphold the democratic alterations in the country," said the guest, stressing strategic importance of Azerbaijan in region.

The parties had comprehensive exchange of views on the talks carried out for settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno Karabakh conflict, other questions of international concern. AzerTAg
