Akif Shahbazov invalidates ADP decision on dialogue with the government

07 February 2007 [15:45] - TODAY.AZ
Chief of Azerbaijan Democrat Party Supreme Assembly Akif Shahbazov issued an order to annul the Assembly's January 27 decision on constructive dialogue with the government.

He based this step with ADP leader Rasul Guliyev's disproval of the dialogue with the government. According to him, the party leader in an interview to the press disapproved dialogue with the government, APA reports.

Shahbazov's order reads that the decision of the party is invalidated and deputy party leader Sardar Jalaloglu's appeal to the President is invalid, as well as the party chairman's proposals on establishment of organizing committee for congress was reflected in the order.

Shahbazov said that the decision of the Supreme Assembly comes into force only after the party leader signs it.

"Rasul Guliyev noted that if he had information, this decision will not be passed. It means that he is against of decision and so the decision can not remain in force. That is why I had to issue it," he said.

Commenting on the reasons on Rasul Guliyev's position, Shahbazov said that the relations are unilateral that is why we can learn his position only through media.

ADP Deputy leader Jalaloglu in the statement called Shahbazov's move tyranny. He stressed that he is not informed about the decision and will take immediate measures on the case.

"Shahbazov is a member of the organizing committee and he has no competence to issue any order. Only the congress can consider this decision again," he said.
