ADP appealed to President to hold dialogue with YAP

30 January 2007 [17:07] - TODAY.AZ
Azerbaijani Democrat Party (ADP) appealed to Ilham Aliyev, the President, and the leader of New Azerbaijani Party (YAP) to hold dialogue with YAP.

The appeal mentions the decision of ADP General Assembly on January 27 to prefer political dialogue and constructiveness in governing-and-opposition party relations, ADP deputy chairman Hesret Rustemov told APA.

"Considering president's statement of their readiness to hold dialogue with the opposition, we also presented a copy of our decision. The appeal asks to take steps for the beginning of the dialogue," he said.

Deputy Chairman added that ADP expects a response from YAP in a short time. YAP Deputy Executive Assistant, parliamentarian Mubariz Gurbanli stated that the appeal will be discussed first.

He regarded the appeal as ADP leadership's admittance the failure of its political course.

He said that radicalism has no end. MP said it is early to cooperate with ADP.

"ADP stated to operate as a constructive opposition. It means to operate within the law. Cooperation is possible only after ADP admits the principles of YAP. I haven't come across in press releases with ADP's statement to admit the principles of YAP," he said.
