Representatives of ICRC met four times with Samir Mammedov and twice with Eldeniz Nuriyev

ICRC Baku Office representative Gulnaz Guliyeva told APAd that the representatives delivered the letter of the family to the soldier.

The representatives have met twice with Azerbaijani soldier Eldeniz Nuriyev captivated on Dec 31.

They monitored the detention conditions and physical and psychological conditions of the soldiers.

Samir Mammedov was drafted from Berde Military Registration Office a year ago and was serving in the military unit N. He was taken captive in Kazakh-Ijevan border. He had no ammunition with him.

Eldeniz Nuriyev was drafted from Agsu Military Registration Office in July 2005 and was taken captive on 31 December 2006 in the region of Fizuli.

Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense information service Chief Ramiz Malikov stated that the captivated soldiers will soon be handed back according to the verbal agreement between the defense ministers of both countries.  "The negotiations on the issue are ongoing," he said.
