President receives chair of PACE Monitoring Committee

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received on December 11 at the Presidential Palace Mr. Eduard Lintner, Chairperson of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe's (PACE) Monitoring Committee, and member of the Assembly's Political Affairs Committee.

Mr. Lintner said the Baku meeting of the PACE Political Affairs Committee, which he added is attended by most of its members, arouses great interest. On the recent visit to Azerbaijan by co-rapporteurs of the Monitoring Committee to Azerbaijan, he thanked President Ilham Aliyev for cooperation.

Eduard Lintner let the Head of State know he has just familiarized himself with the co-rapporteurs' latest report on Azerbaijan, and mentioned the positive changes occurred in the country.

President Ilham Aliyev described the fact of conducting the PACE Political Affairs Committee's meeting in Baku as an important event which he said will allow the Committee members to get closer acquainted with the development processes taking place in the country.

Highlighting the importance of the exchange of views on the issues of mutual interest, he noted that the co-rapporteurs of the PACE Monitoring Committee had open discussions during their latest visit to Azerbaijan.

The President expressed confidence in further positive changes in all spheres in Azerbaijan, AzerTAg reports.
