Azerbaijan government and Venice Commission start next round of talks

Discussions on the law 'On Freedom of assembly' of Azerbaijan between Azerbaijani government and Venice Commission experts began in the Council of Europe.

From the Azerbaijani side Fuad Aleskerov, Head of Department of Co-ordination, Law Enforcement Agency, Administration of the President of Azerbaijan, Shahin Aliyev, Head of Department of Legislation and Legal Expertise, Office of the Presiden, Chingiz Asgarov, Attache, Administration of the President, OSCE Baku Office representative Andreas Bush, from the side of Venice Commission Finola Flanagan, Vice-President of the Venice Commission, members of Venice Commission Bogdan Aurescu and Alain Chablais partake in the meeting.

No information is given about the issues discussed in the meeting.

The Azerbaijani delegation will negotiate with Venice Commission about election legislation. Shahin Aliyev will represent Azerbaijani government at the meeting.

The representative of OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights J.Stonestrid and IFES Baku Office chief Blesington wil participate in the meeting.

The chief of Elections and Referendums Sergey Kuznetsov will represent Venice Commission in the negotiations, APA European bureau reports.
