President Aliyev receives new Latvian Ambassador

On November 3, President Ilham Aliyev received credentials from newly appointed Ambassador of Latvia to Azerbaijan Mihails Popkovs.

Popkovs said he would do his best to contribute to further strengthening of the bilateral relations between Latvia and Azerbaijan.

President Aliyev congratulated Ambassador Popkovs on the start of his diplomatic activity in Azerbaijan.

The President said Azerbaijan-Latvia relations are intensively developing in many fields.

The Azerbaijani leader described reciprocal visits by the two countries' leaders as well as the fact that Latvia was the first Baltic country Azerbaijan opened its Embassy in, as impetus to further development of the bilateral ties.

Ambassador Mihails Popkovs conveyed to President Ilham Aliyev greetings from his Latvian counterpart Vaira Vike-Freiberga.

He said he would do his best to contribute to strengthening of strategic partnership between Latvia and Azerbaijan.

President Aliyev asked the Ambassador to convey his greetings to the Latvian leader. AzerTAg
