European Human Rights Court agrees to consider Farhad Aliyev case

The European Court for Human Rights agreed on October 18 to hear the case of former Azerbaijani Economic Development Minister Farhad Aliyev.

The decision follows from the consideration of an appeal filed by Aliyev's lawyers that contended that the case against Aliyev was motivated purely by political considerations and argued that the criminal case against the former minister was routinely violating his civil liberties, Turan reported.
