Portugal squad for Azerbaijan match

Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has called up two uncapped defenders to his squad for next month's Euro 2008 qualifier against Azerbaijan.

Jose Antonio of Borussia Moenchengladbach and Manuel da Costa of PSV Eindhoven were included in Thursday's 22-man squad for the home game with the Azeris on Oct. 7 and the away tie in Poland four days later. Portugal were held to a 1-1 draw in Finland in their opening match in Group A, which also features Serbia, Belgium, Kazakhstan and Armenia.

Goalkeepers: Ricardo Pereira (Sporting), Quim Silva (Benfica)

Defenders: Paulo Ferreira (Chelsea), Miguel Monteiro (Valencia), Ricardo Carvalho (Chelsea), Fernando Meira (Stutgart), Marco Caneira (Sporting), Nuno Valente (Everton), Ricardo Rocha (Benfica), Jose Antonio (Borussia Moenchengladbach), Manuel da Costa (PSV Eindhoven)

Midfielders: Armando Petit (Benfica), Costinha (Atletico Madrid), Tiago Mendes (Olympique Lyon), Maniche Ribeiro (Atletico Madrid), Deco (Barcelona), Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United)
