UN to consider Armenian arsons in occupied Azerbaijani lands next week

"Negotiations are being held at the United Nations and the OSCE related to the arsons the occupied Azerbaijani lands committed by Armenians. The UN will consider this issue separately next week," Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov told journalists.

The Minister this issue to be discussed by the UN will be humanitarian aid for the damage inflicted by the fires in the region, APA reports.

"We offered arrival of a monitoring group or fact-finding mission to the region. It has not been decided whether which of them will arrive in the region," the Minister underlined.

Mr.Mammadyarov also stressed official Yerevan has not replied to Azerbaijan’s offer to draw back Armenian troops 20 km for Azerbaijan to participate in extinguishing of the fires. He said the mechanisms should be worked out first of all. The Minister hopes for a positive reply from Armenia.

Commenting on the issue on recalling personal representative of OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk due to his inefficient activity, Mammadyarov said this is not planned.

As coming to Belgian Senate's foreign relations committee chief's attending the "independence day" of the separatist Nagorno Karabakh regime functioning in the occupied Azerbaijani territory, the Minister said this visit was not official.

"If investigated, you will such visits are sponsored by Armenian Diaspora," he added.
