Azeri and Turkish Armed Forces to start joint trainings

"Military relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey are developing, and we are making serious efforts to strengthen this cooperation," Azerbaijani Defense Minister Safar Abiyev told journalists.

The Minister said several joint trainings are planned to be held with Turkey's Armed Forces soon, APA informs.

"Turkey plays an important part in conforming Azerbaijani Army to NATO standards. Azerbaijani peacekeepers are serving in Kosovo and Afghanistan within Turkish peacekeeping party. The economic projects in the region will strengthen the military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey. The two countries have concluded many agreements and protocols on military cooperation."
