16 August 2006 [09:16] - TODAY.AZ
"The reports saying that Azerbaijan supports the idea of OSCE Minsk Group chairmanship by rotation aim at instigation. All of the three states co-chairing the Minsk Group are quite powerful," Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov told journalists.

"These mediating states have important role in the Minsk Group and it has no alternative. Turkey, Germany, Sweden and some other states want to participate in further stages- renovation works and operations. Their interests have a ground. The activity of the Minsk Group depends on the activity of its member states, and interior coordination is important. There is no need to change the current format," he added.

Mr.Azimov also said the Azerbaijani government targets strengthening its foreign policy taking into account all possible dangers and risks, APA reports.

"Azerbaijan participates in regional and transregional projects. This potential should be use as it represents certain aims for us both in relations with international organizations and in bilateral issues," the Deputy Minister said.
