Azerbaijan welcomes offer on international aid

21 July 2006 [22:13] - TODAY.AZ
Foreign Ministry spokesman Tahir Taghizadeh has commented on the report drawn up by Andrzei Kasprzyk, personal representative of OSCE Chairman-in-Office.

The report deals with the results of the monitoring of recent fires in the occupied Azerbaijani lands and in the contact line of Azerbaijani and Armenia Armed Forces.

As APA reports, the Ministry has analyzed the report in detail. The report confirms the fires in these territories.

"It is welcoming that the report says the sides lack necessary facilities and water resources to remove the consequences of the fires and prevent further fires. The authors of the report offer international aid for that. The Azerbaijani side welcomes this offer fully realizing that fires might lead to a large-scale ecological trouble."

"Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov is observing the issue personally and will soon contact the international organizations, including OSCE to prepare a concrete action plan for this purpose," the spokesman said.
