National holiday of France marked in Azerbaijan

On the occasion of national holiday of France - the Bastille Day, on July 14, the embassy of France in Baku has arranged a formal reception.

Speaking in reception, the ambassador of France in Baku Bernard Amoudric du Chaffaut has stated, that 217 years back the struggle of French people for liberty has ended in victory, AzerTAg reports.

Having emphasized, that his country is the eternal friend to Azerbaijan, the Ambassador characterized the visits of President Ilham Aliyev to France and his meetings with President Jacques Chirac as a sign of a high level of mutual relations.

Having reminded, that Azerbaijan is the country possessing both eastern and western values, the diplomat has told, that in the Republic, there is tolerance, which cannot be met in any country of the world. Azerbaijan is the country having leading positions in region. The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Main export Pipeline inauguration ceremony of which took place on July 13, is a contribution of Azerbaijan to the world community, he stressed.

Vice-Speaker of Milli Majlis Valeh Alaskarov has transferred congratulations of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in connection with significant date, the wishes of peace and welfare to the French people.

Having emphasized, that President Ilham Aliyev attaches to development of the Azeri-French relations special significance, the Vice-Speaker of Milli Majlis has expressed confidence for the further strengthening of cooperation between our countries.

On reception, also were attending officials of the Azerbaijan state and government, ambassadors of foreign countries in Baku, representatives of the public.
