FM informed CE Secretary General on the fire in occupied territories

Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov has met with Council of Europe (CE) Deputy Secretary General Mod de bur-Bukikkio, who is on a visit in our country as a guest to participate at Islamic Conference Organization foreign ministers 33rd session.

According to APA, in the meeting present situation of Azerbaijan-CE relations, commitments taken before the organization, parliamentary elections, municipality elections due to be held in October, election legislation and democratization issues, Armenia-Azerbaijan issues and peace process as well as exchange of views on the discussions held in ICO foreign ministers 33rd session.

The Minister bringing to the attention the fulfilling the commitment taken before CE, stated Armenian non-constructive position in the settlement of Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict. Freeing off occupied regions and returning of displaced people to their native lands-- is the main principle leading to the settlement of the conflict, noted that not an accord has been achieved in this field.

In the meeting anxiety about the fire on the borderline territories was brought to the attention of the guest, and the minister stated that is not on a danger for Azerbaijan but for the whole region. The minister said that Armenia bears responsibility for the fire in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan by Armenia.

Elmar Mammadyarov has also met with Egypt Arabic republic deputy foreign minister, Ms. Naila Gabr who is on a visit in our country to participate at ICO foreign ministers' 33rd session. In the meeting exchange of view on cooperation between the two countries in the field of political, humanitarian, trade etc. on expansion chances was discussed.
