Azerbaijani President to address NATO Parliamentary Assembly session

NATO Parliamentary Assembly's Spring Session started in Paris.

The session will be closed on 30 May. Member of Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation to NATO PA Gudret Hasanguliyev, who is attending the session told APA that the session started at 18:00 by Baku time today.

The first plenary session will be addressed by NATO PA chairman Pierre Lellouche, French Interior and Regional Development Minister Nicolas Sarkozy, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Boris Tarasyuk.

An intervention by Alexander Milinkevich, leader of united opposition in Belarus, is also scheduled. Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev and Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili are due to address the session on May 30.

Commenting on the participation of Azerbaijan and Georgian Presidents in the session, Hasanguliyev said that the NATO PA has a tradition to invite heads of NATO countries and partners as wells different officials from these countries to the Assembly's sessions to answer questions of parliamentarians. The heads of state address on NATO and region these states are situated.

NATO PA's five committees (Political, Defence and Security, Science and Technology, Civil Dimension of Security, Economics and Security) will meet on 27 and 28 May and be addressed by guest speakers.
