President receives UNIFEM executive director

Noting that she had fruitful meetings in Azerbaijan Ms. Noeleen Heyzer said that Azerbaijan is the first among CIS countries she visited.

UNIFEM executive director stressed that she arrived in Baku at the important stage of the country's development and congratulated President Ilham Aliyev on the rapidly developing economy of Azerbaijan. She particularly pointed out that revenues Azerbaijan receives are being spent on people's welfare.

The Head of State also noted that it is a very vital issue and economic development in Azerbaijan is primarily oriented to social and humanitarian spheres. President Ilham Aliyev stated on successful implementation of people's welfare improvement programs in Azerbaijan regarding education, health, and regional development, AzerTAg reports.
