President Aliyev receives Vatican Secretary for External affairs

On May 22, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a delegation of the Vatican led by its Secretary for Relations with States, Archbishop Giovanni Lajolo.

The Archbishop recalled with pleasure his meeting with President Ilham Aliyev during his Vatican visit, which he said was very successful. He conveyed greetings from Pope, His Holiness Benedict XVI to the Azerbaijani leader, AzerTAg informs.

The Head of State pointed out that his visit to Vatican was really fruitful, expressed gratitude for the greetings from His Holiness Benedict XVI, and asked the Secretary Lajolo to convey his own greetings to the Pope.
