Mehdi Safari: "Iranian gov't ready to broaden cooperation with Baku"

Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister and special envoy to Caspian Sea affairs Mehdi Safari said here on Friday that the government of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is determined to fully expand cooperation with Azerbaijan.

According to IRNA, Safari told Azeri Prime Minister that Iran is pleased with economic ventures with Azerbaijan, including a Samand car production line, planning to have more such cooperation in the future.

Rasizadeh said for his part that Baku is for implementation of mutual accords in different fields.

The two sides at the meeting also voiced their respective country's willingness for cooperation in the energy, including oil and gas, power, transportation, passenger and cargo transit, and industry sectors, stressing the need to speed up the North-South corridor project.
