GUAM might be renamed

GUAM alliance (Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova) might be renamed as Organization for Democracy and Economic Development.

Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko's spokesman Irina Gerashchenko stated that the GUAM would focus on strengthening of democracy, socio-political development as well as cooperation for security.

The spokesman also reported that GUAM heads of state would meet in Kiev May 23. Presidents of Poland, Lithuania, Romania and Bulgaria will also attend this meeting, APA reports.
