Jews satisfied with tolerance in Azerbaijan

Chairman of Milli Majlis spoke of history of the links between two countries, noting that Azerbaijan attached special attention to development of relations between Azerbaijan and Israel. He stated that many Jews live in Azerbaijan and they play important role in socio-political life of the Republic.

Then, Speaker of Azerbaijan Parliament dwelt on prospects of inter-parliamentary ties, noting the role of mutual visits.

Joseph Shagal congratulated Ogtay Asadov for appointment as Chairman of Parliament, expressed admiration for alterations in Baku, dynamic development in the Republic. He highly assessed level of tolerance in Azerbaijan, naming it an example for other countries. ‘Over hundred thousand of Jews now live in Israel, he said. "They play notable role in communicating Azerbaijan with the world and Israeli community."

The sides had comprehensive exchange of views on a number of other issues of mutual interest, AzerTAg reports.
