Deputy PM meets with Georgy Kheviashvili

Ali Hasanov, Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan and Chairman of the State Committee for Refugees met May 15 with his Georgian counterpart Georgy Kheviashvili.

As AzerTAg reports, Mr. Hasanov updated on the structure of the Committee and its commitments. He dwelt on financial and moral damage caused by Armenians as a result of Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict. He noted that amount of lost property of Azeri compatriots forcedly ousted from Armenia made up 60 bln dollars.

As a result of ethnic cleansing committed by Armenians, none of Azeri left in Armenia, and 700 thousand IDPs have been driven from Nagorno Karabakh and surrounded seven regions.

"Our problems and traditions are similar. Azerbaijan and Georgia faced with the problem of refugees and IDPs. As neighboring and friendly countries, we should join efforts to eliminate these difficulties," Mr. Kheviashvili said.

The sides have also touched on importance of implementation of the different projects to solve the problems of refugees and IDPs.
