Next US Ambassador to Azerbaijan will be a woman

According to statement released by US Embassy to Azerbaijan, US President George Bush will nominate Anne Derse from Maryland to be the next US Ambassador to Azerbaijan.

According to REGNUM, Anne Derse is career diplomat; she served recently as the director for biodefense policy at the White House's Homeland Security Council, and previously as the minister counselor for economic affairs at the US Embassies to Belgium, and later to Iraq.

Derse's nomination as head of US diplomatic mission to Azerbaijan is evidence of fact, that the USA is most of all interested in economic cooperation with the country.
