Minister of Economic Development met with UN representatives

The Minister of Economic Development Heydar Babayev met with Marco Borsotti, the UN resident coordinator in Azerbaijan, Michael Hopkins, group manager of the "Using potential oil incomes in turning "back gold" into "human gold"" Project implemented in Azerbaijan, and Alan Webster, international advisor on macroeconomics and modeling.

As APA informs, during the meeting the sides discussed project's implementation situation, works carried out on the project so far, preparation of a model reflecting mutual economic relations between the oil sector and other economic spheres, introduction of advanced foreign experiences in Azerbaijan, improvement of foreign education opportunities for Azeri students, evaluation of the human resources development priorities, and measures for formation the demand to abilities in the labour market.

"Using potential oil incomes in turning "back gold" into "human gold"" Project is implemented in accordance with a memorandum signed between the UN Development Programme (UNDP) and government of Azerbaijan. The total cost of the project is $361.2 thousand and this amount was provided by the UNDP.
