European Commission has no plans about opening its Embassy in Yerevan

It is not planned to open the Embassy of the European Commission of the European Union in Yerevan, Alan Waddams, the special Ambassador of the EU's European Commission in Azerbaijan, told journalists on Wednesday.

As Trend reports according to Waddams, currently there is office of the European Commission in Armenia, while Brussels has no plans in expanding its activities in the near future.

The same time, Waddams informed that by late 2007 the Embassy of the European Commission will open in Baku.

"It is one of the objectives set for me by the EU," the European diplomat underlined, noting that the budget, staff and other organization-technical issues concerning the diplomatic mission will be coordinated shortly.
