Chief of Baku police warns "Azadliq" bloc leaders

"On Saturday Maharram Aliyev, the chief of the Baku Central Police Department, met with the organizers of the unsanctioned rally scheduled for Sunday," announced today Yashar Aliyev, the deputy head of the department.

According to Aliyev, the head of the Baku Police told "Azadliq" bloc representatives that the conduct of rally without a relevant permission of the Baku City Executive Power will be an illegal act.

"Organizers of the action were warned and Aliyev reminded them that police will implement all measures specified by the law to prevent the unsanctioned rally. Yashar Aliyev specifically underlined that the organizers will carry full responsibility for any possible resistance showed to police forces.
