Opposition may start sit-ins if its demands will not be satisfied

Gurban Mammadov, a member of Supreme Assembly of the Democratic Party of Azerbaijan told APA news agency that tents can be set up and a sit-down demonstrations might be initiated as the next actions of "Azadliq" bloc.

According to Mammadov the government elite should think over and president of the country should come to an agreement with the opposition. He declared that if the frauds committed in Constituency Election Commissions are not corrected, the opposition’s struggle will be more serious.

"Organizers of the meetings have not conducted any discussions on sedentary actions. But people gathered in the squares demand sedentary actions and want the tents to be set in the squares. There is not final decision about this. But we shall show the said tents to the participants of actions next actions," said Mammadov.

As to the number of the tents, Gurban Mammadov didn’t give any information about it just mentioning that 26.000 of tents were set up during the orange revolution in Ukraine. "There are a bit less tents in Azerbaijan," he said.

G.Mammadov didn’t answer the question on where the tents were kept. But head of the Unit Election Headquarter of "Azadliq" bloc, Panah Huseynov stated that all said about the orange tents are rumor. He noted that the leadership of the bloc didn’t bring any orange tents from anywhere, and orange tents are not produced in the country either. "There is no final decision about the sit-down actions yet. The leadership of the bloc does not conduct any discussion about this either. We shall continue our struggle in the framework of the law we will not plan to go to any confrontation," said Huseynov.
