YAP celebrates victory at 2005 parliamentary elections

"The ruling Yeni Azerbaijan party (YAP) won the 2005 parliamentary elections," the YAP executive secretary Ali Ahmedov told the news conference on 8 November, Trend reports.

At the newly formed Parliament (Milli Mejlis) the ruling party will be represented by 63 deputies. "It is our success, as well as one more proof that the people support the policy of the head of the state," Ahmedov said.

The YAP spokesman said also, the difference between the results of the elections and the results of exit-polls, held by various institutions was minor. It proves, the elections were quite democratic and transparent.
