Brothers of ex-minister Farhad Aliyev are being pushed out from high echelons of power

On October 22 APA news agency informed that the head of the Baku city Executive Power (BCEP) Hajibala Abutalibov signed a decree annulling the Construction and Park Economy Department of the mayor’s office. The agency acquired information that H.Abutalibov signed the decree on October 16.

From now on the work previously done by the Construction and Park Economy Department will be carried out by the Baku Greenery Department. The Greenery Department will be led by Vagif Novruzov who worked as the deputy-chief of the Construction and Park Economy Department.

It should be noted that the chairman of the annulled Construction and Park Economy Department was the brother of the former minister of economic development Farhad Aliyev, Alipanah Aliyev.

Aliyev rejected to comment on his dismissal. At the same time it is known that no charges against A.Aliyev were raised yet.

Another brother of Farhad, Aliyev Alovsat Aliyev is a candidate from the Jalilabad village election constituency # 68. It is rumored that 54 year old A.Aliyev who is also the chairman of the “For Stable Development” Public Union withdrew his candidacy. “I am ill now. I do not want to say anything about these events”, that is how A.Aliyev commented his withdrawal from the candidate race.
