Rasul Guliev may loose the candidate immunity

If a court makes a decision to prosecute Rasul Guliev for heavy crimes before the elections start then his candidacy status will be annulled” stated the chairman of Central Elections Commission Mazahir Panahov in his conversation with journalists on October 18. He also added that other candidates who were stopped by police forces while trying to greet ex-minister Rasul Guliev in the airport were advised not to join unlawful actions.

On the other hand secretary of the CEC Vidadi Mahmudlu told journalists that state broadcasting company AzTV demanded representatives of Azadlyg elections coalition to bring their addresses taped in advance for them to be broadcasted.

“On October 17 Sardar Jalalogly and Isa Gambar were deprived of their broadcasting time even though Mr. Gambar had a pre-paid contract specifying the time”, waved Mahmudlu. “However it was violated. This being an unlawful act at the same time is creation of different opportunities to the candidates”, he said.
